Today, we stand firm on the principles of individual liberty and the sanctity of personal choice. In South Dakota, we believe in upholding the rights and freedoms of our citizens, as guaranteed by our Constitution. This includes the right to make decisions about our own health and well-being, without undue interference from government mandates.
The issue of mask mandates has been a subject of national debate, with differing perspectives on their effectiveness and necessity. However, it is clear that the imposition of mask mandates, whether by government entities or private companies, raises concerns about overreach and infringing upon our rights.
We want to make it abundantly clear: mask mandates go against the very essence of our constitutional values. The courts have consistently ruled that such mandates infringe upon our rights and are unconstitutional. In South Dakota, we will not allow the imposition of mask mandates that violate the rights of our citizens.
As I mentioned in another document on this website, the constitution is not up for sale and cannot be implemented piece by piece. As a state, we cannot allow businesses to mandate the wearing of masks or receiving untested vaccines without individual choice.

We must never shut down our houses of worship. Doing so would not only be illegal under our constitutional Republic and a violation of the First Amendment, but also disrespectful to our Lord and savior. I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly not going to pick a fight with Him.
We respect the right of individuals to make informed decisions about their health and safety, based on real research and the expertise of qualified medical professionals. It is important to seek guidance from credible sources, not influenced by political agendas or agencies driven by power and profit. In this age of information, we must be discerning and cautious, avoiding taking medical advice solely from news stations or sources with questionable motives.
There is a wealth of legitimate research from reputable doctors and experts that has become available in recent years, offering valuable insights into these matters. It is our duty to ensure that the information we rely upon is accurate and unbiased, so that we can make well-informed decisions about our health.
Businesses should respect the rights of their customers and not enforce mandates that go against the principles of liberty and personal choice. We believe that South Dakotans should have the freedom to choose whether to wear a mask or not, without fear of discrimination or coercion.
As your Future Governor, we are committed to protecting your constitutional rights and preserving the core values that make South Dakota great. We will uphold the principles of limited government and individual freedom that our state was founded upon.
In conclusion, let it be resoundingly clear: in South Dakota, we emphatically reject the notion of mask or vaccine mandates. Even when cloaked in the guise of protecting our children, we stand as a united front in the defense of our cherished liberties and the rights of our fellow citizens. We hold steadfast to the unwavering principle of individual choice, and we are unwavering in our commitment to upholding the values that have illuminated our nation’s path for generations.
We understand the importance of safety and well-being, but we also recognize the value of informed decisions based on sound research and genuine concern for our people. We champion the idea that true progress comes through unity, understanding, and the empowerment of every individual to make choices that align with their beliefs.
As we move forward, guided by the spirit of “S.E.A.L: Seal in and Enhance American Liberty. Stand Fast. Stand Strong,” we invite all South Dakotans to join us in this vital endeavor. Let us continue to protect the freedoms that make our state exceptional, and let us do so with unwavering conviction and a shared commitment to the principles that define us.
Thank you for standing with us on this journey to safeguard liberty, uphold our rights, and create a future where individual choices are respected, and the spirit of America’s founding remains alive and well.
